INSTALL (1 minute)
  1. Quit After Effects.
  2. Copy "Coherent Text Presets.jsx" into the ScriptUI Panels folder:
       macOS /Applications/Adobe After Effects <version>/Scripts/ScriptUI Panels/
       Windows C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects <version>\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels\
  3. Open After Effects > Window > Coherent Text Presets.jsx and dock the panel anywhere.
Or, without installing: File > Scripts > Run Script File... and pick the .jsx.
Works in After Effects 2020 (17.0) and newer, with both expression engines.

USE
  - Select one or more text layers, pick a preset and click Apply (or double-click it).
Nothing selected? The panel makes a new text layer for you.
  - In presets start at the layer's in point; Out presets finish at its out point. Slide or trim the layer to retime.
  - Tweak the CT sliders in Effect Controls:
In: CT In Stagger (ms), CT In Duration (ms), CT In Bounce (0 = smooth, 60 = very bouncy)
Out: CT Out Stagger (ms), CT Out Duration (ms)
Loop: CT Loop Speed (%), CT Loop Amount (%), CT Loop Spread (degrees between letters)
  - Stack one In + one Out + one Loop on the same layer. Applying another preset of the same kind replaces it.
  - Change the look: open the animator ("CT In - Soft Rise - move") and edit its Position, Scale, Blur... values.
The Expression Selector only decides how much of that pose each letter carries at each moment.
  - Showcase builds a comp with all 46 presets one after another, so you can scrub through them.
  - Want an .ffx? Apply a preset, select the layer's Text > Animators and Effects, then Animation > Save Animation Preset.

TEXT PRESETS
 In
  - Soft Rise Letters lift into place with a soft blur. The title that goes with anything.
  - Spring Pop Each letter pops from nothing on a real spring and settles with one overshoot.
  - Drop In Letters fall from above, tilt on the way down and land with a bounce.
  - Blur Focus Out of focus and slightly too big, then everything pulls sharp from the centre out.
  - Cascade A smooth ramp of letters that rise and straighten one after another.
  - Flip Up Letters flip up on their X axis like cards turning toward you.
  - Turn Letters turn in on their Y axis, a quiet 3D reveal for product names.
  - Flip Board Hinged at the top, letters fold down like a split-flap board.
  - Swing Each letter swings up from its left foot and wobbles to a stop.
  - Assemble Letters fly in from scattered positions and angles and click together.
  - Typewriter Letters strike on one by one, each with a quick flash of colour.
  - Decode Scrambled glyphs type in, then resolve left to right into the real word.
  - Stretch Letters shoot up from the baseline, stretch, squash and settle.
  - Streak Fast horizontal entrance with a motion-blur streak on every letter.
  - Zoom Through Letters arrive from just in front of the lens, huge and soft, and land crisp.
  - Center Pop A springy pop that spreads from the middle letter out to both ends.
  - Bouncy Wave A wave of letters rises with a lot of spring. Best on short, happy words.
  - Tumble Letters tumble in from tiny, spinning either way, and snap upright.
  - Unfold Skewed letters slide in and straighten, like a page being smoothed flat.
  - Track In The classic film title: wide tracking closes in while the word fades up from a blur.
  - Gravity Dropped from high up, every letter bounces like a ball before it settles.
  - Ink Wash Letters rise in your accent colour and wash back to the text colour.
  - Sparkle Letters appear in a random order, each blooming out of a soft blur.
  - Letter Dip Measured from a pro SaaS reel: letters drop in, sink a little below the line, swing back and settle. The landing that looks hand-keyed.
  - Jelly Squashed wide and flat, letters wobble back to shape like jelly.
  - Word Pop Word by word, each one springs up from a point. Great for captions.
  - Word Rise Words float up out of a blur one after another. Calm, readable subtitles.
  - Slam Each word slams down from the camera and hits the beat.
  - Line Rise Whole lines rise in turn. Built for quotes, lists and lower thirds.
 Out
  - Sink The mirror of Soft Rise: letters drop away into a soft blur.
  - Blow Away A gust takes the letters one by one, up and off to the right.
  - Shrink Letters wind up a little, then shrink to nothing from the middle out.
  - Dissolve Letters melt away in a random order, blurring and swelling as they go.
  - Fall Gravity wins: letters drop and tip over in a random order.
  - Flip Away Letters flip back on their X axis and vanish edge-on.
  - Backspace Deleted from the end, one letter at a time.
  - Evaporate Letters lift, swell and fade upward like steam.
  - Word Fall Words drop away one at a time with a little tilt.
 Loop
  - Wave A gentle wave runs through the letters, forever.
  - Float Letters drift up and down and rock slightly, like they're underwater.
  - Ripple A swell of scale rolls through the word on repeat.
  - Hop Letters take turns hopping, like a bouncing-ball sing-along.
  - Wobble Each letter rocks on its baseline, out of step with its neighbours.
  - Nervous A twitchy, hand-drawn jitter at 12 fps. Instant boiling-line feel.
  - Shimmer A band of accent colour sweeps across the word every couple of seconds.
  - Glitch Random bursts of horizontal slice-shift and skew. Use it sparingly.

MOTION EXPRESSIONS (also in the panel's Expressions tab and as .txt files)
  - Coherent Spring on Any property with keyframes. Our house spring, measured from a reference UI animation: a confident move with one soft overshoot. Keyframes become targets.
  - Snappy Spring on Any property with keyframes. Fast and crisp with barely any overshoot. Buttons, toggles, UI that should feel instant.
  - Jelly Spring on Any property with keyframes. Loose and wobbly. Stickers, mascots, anything that should feel squishy.
  - Heavy Spring on Any property with keyframes. Slow, weighty and smooth with no bounce. Big type, 3D objects, camera moves.
  - Overshoot on Any property with keyframes. Keep your own eased keyframes and add a natural overshoot after each one, driven by the speed you arrive with.
  - Squash & Stretch on Scale (reads the layer's own Position). The faster the layer moves, the more it stretches along the move and thins across it. Instant cartoon weight.
  - Follow the Leader on Position (duplicate the layer to make a trail). Each copy follows the layer above it a few frames late. Duplicate it 5 times for an instant trail.
  - Looping Wiggle on Any property. A wiggle that loops perfectly, so the end of your GIF or loop matches the start.
  - Auto Fade on Opacity. Fades in after the layer starts and out before it ends. Trim the layer and the fades follow.
  - Pendulum Swing on Rotation. A damped swing from the layer's in point. Hang signs, badges and tags from their top edge.
  - Spring Pop-In on Scale. No keyframes needed: the layer springs up from zero at its in point with our house spring.
  - Bounce Drop on Position. Real gravity: the layer falls from above at its in point and bounces until it rests on its position.
  - Breathe on Scale. A slow, calm scale pulse. Logos on hold, idle buttons, background shapes.
  - Typewriter on Source Text. Types your text on at a steady speed with a blinking caret. Edit the text as usual; the expression follows.
  - Number Counter on Source Text. Counts up to any number with an ease-out and thousands separators. Set the prefix to $ or the suffix to %.
  - Ticker Loop on Position. Scrolls a layer sideways forever and wraps around. Make a news-ticker or marquee from two copies.

HOW THE SPRINGS WORK
Springs use a duration and a bounce, like iOS: damping ratio = 1 - bounce, angular frequency = 2 pi / duration.
Our house spring is 0.41 s with 0.37 bounce (stiffness 230, damping 19) - the one in every Coherent video.
